About Rev RunJoseph Ward Simmons, better known as Reverend Run or Rev. Run, is an influential American musician recognized as one of the original members of hip hop band Run-D.M.C. The group was founded in the early 1980s, in Queens, by Joseph and his friends: Darryl McDaniels, (stage name D.M.C.) and Jason Mizell (stage name Jam Master Jay). Run-D.M.C ascended to stardom in 1984, following the release of eponymous debut album. By the end of the decade it was often mentioned as one of the most influential hip-hop groups in the United States, along with such legends as The Beastie Boys, Public Enemy and LL Cool J. Joseph’s debut solo album was released in 2005, when the reality show Run’s House resulted in a new wave of his popularity. Rev Run net worth is currently estimated at $70 millions.
Joseph was born in Queens, the youngest son to Evelyn and Daniel Simmons. His mother was a New York City park administrator, while his father worked as a public school administrator.
