About Ne-yoNe-Yo, real name Shaffer Chimere Smith, is an award winning American R&B singer, dancer and record producer. He began his career as a songwriter and gained prominence after his hit “Let Me Love You”, which was performed by Mario, topped the charts. Following the release of this single, Ne-Yo received an invitation to meet the producers of Def Jam Records and landed a contract with this label. His first solo album, entitled In My Own Words, reached the stores in 2006. It featured singles “Sexy Love” and “So Sick”, both of which peaked within top 10 on nearly every radio chart in America. His following studio work, Because of You, was released in the following year and by the end of 2008 Shaffer has finished his third album- Year of the Gentleman.
