Torrence Hatch, better known as Lil Boosie, is an American hip-hop artist from Louisiana. He was nicknamed boosie by his own family, years before he started to consider becoming a rapper. Boosie’s career is currently on hold, as the rapper is imprisoned in Louisiana State Penitentiary for the use and position of illicit drugs. He was sentenced for 8 years in jail. Torrence was born and raised in one of the poorest districts of Baton Rouge, where deprivation was always present in the air. His father walked on Lil and his mother before he could remember his face and was absent from raising a boy. Lil’s drug problems started when he was still a teenager. He was kicked out from school for drug position and never finished his education, leaving home to pursue the career in music instead. In 2000, Lil started working with another famous recording hip-hop artist C-Loc and soon made a guest appearance on his 5th album.

His third and so far the last album Incarcerated was released when Boosie was already serving time in jail. Its first week sales were somewhat lower than expected, reaching 30 thousand copies at best. However, eventually the album sold over 150 thousand copies and boosted Lil Boosie net worth to $4 million.
